Cinquains (Sin-Canes)

This week in literacy we looked at cinquains. Cinquains are poems that are 5 lines long, they don't have to rhyme and the number of syllables per line changes, and goes in the order of 2,4,6,8,2. I had quite a bit of fun, but I lacked creativity and basically wrote a cinquain about the first thing that came to mind.

Rolling Dice

 

For this task we had to go on a dice roller app and we had to roll 2 dices and record what numbers we got in the table.We also have to write down how much different number combinations you will get if you roll 2 dices.Then we had to answer how many times did we get a double and how many rolls is it likely to take for Whaea Kelly to get a double and begin the game.

Edvard Munch

 

For this task we had went to Room 1 and created a poster of a famous Artist named Edvard Munch. If your search up on google how to pronounce his name, it's not actually pronounced Munch as in your eating. It's actually kinda pronounce like Edvard Mouk. I may have gotten that wrong, but thats okay! Anyways, so we had to make a poster about all the information we gathered from watching a few videos.

I enjoyed this task because once again, I got to learn heaps more about someone else. Thank you to Mrs Moala for all the information and i'll be sure to remember it for the near future!!

Georges Seurat - Art Alive

 

For this task we went to Mrs Tele'a's class and learnt about Georges  Seurat. We had to find out different information in a video. We also learnt that he was the mentor of another famous artist named Vincent Van Gogh. I enjoyed learning heaps of information about a different artist and his different form of art!! I can't wait for next weeks lesson and when i get to learn how to paint like this!! Thank you Mrs Tele'a for teacher us about all  these different information. 

Tokelau Language Week!!!

 

For this task we had to write Fun Facts about Tokelau. Me and my cousin decided to write down the history, fun facts and a legend from Tokelau. Happy Tokelauen Language Week!!!

Algebra

For this task we are focusing on Algebra.  We had to identify the rule for the patterns on our maths. Then we had to make the line graph to show more of our work. Then lastly answer a few questions. 

Niuean Language Week - Niue's History

Fakalofa lahi Atu and Happy Niuean Language Week. For this task we had to choose something new to learn about Niue.I chose to learn about Niue's history.After we learnt about Niue's history we had to make a poster showing 10 things we learnt.

Line Graph - Maths

For this task we learned how to tell and use a line graph. Then had to complete a bunch of questions regarding our maths topic, line graphs. After that we had to make a line graph with our own data that we had  to collect from our maths class. My topic was about tropical fruit!! My favourite bit about this task was getting to make my own data based line graph.  

Reading - Create Task

 

For  this task we had to create a  post to explain  what are the main causes of Plastic Pollution,what are the Effects of it and what we can do to help. 

Nga Tau - Te Reo

For this task we had to learn how to count in Maori.After that we had to learn how to from 1-30 in Maori.We also had to make a poster showing how to count from 1-30 in Maori. 

Plastic Pollution

For this task we are learning more about Plastic Pollution, and what damages it causes in our oceans. 

The Shepherd's Boy. An Aesop's Fable.

This week we had to preform a skit for our Aesop's Fable. A Fable is a small Story with a meaning behind it. My fable is about The Shepherd's boy. It's all about a boy who kept on tricking his people in a village on thinking a wolf was coming to eat their sheep. Then One day a real wolf came and all of them. Any way, the meaning behind this is "A lier will not be believed, even when he speaks the truth.

A Fable is a short story with a meaning to it or a lesson to be learnt.

This week we had to use multiplication and division to solve place value questions.

Pepeha learning

This is my Pepeha created from this website. You can learn how to say your pepeha and how to create one. My personal thought about this is it's a really nice chance for people to learn where other people come from and how to greet themselves in the front of a huge Maori crowd. I hope you can use this website to learn your own personal pepeha. Please take the time to read my pepeha and get to know me even though I haven't said my mihi and pepeha personally.

This week for maths I worked with two girls from my class. Their names are Alison and Laolao. We worked to solve out our DIMIC Task for this week.

Rainbows End Trip

Yesterday the Year 7s of Pt England School had a fun time at Rainbows End. We got to take a bus ride, but the first group of people got there early and had to wait for the rest of us because the took too long and we were getting angry, angry enough to say "We want out money back". Once we got there we got our bags checked for some sharp objects and glass bottles. Then some of the workers gave us some bands so that they know we came with a group. It was funny with my group because we went on the roller coaster first, then this other ride I can't really remember the name. Then we went on the family carts. It was really funny because me and my friend Hope was driving in the same car together and at the end of the rise we were supposed to stop but instead she pressed on the green button and crashed into our team helper. They blamed me because they said I was behind the wheel when really it was mainly my friend. Then near the end the boys and our helper in our group went to the Scorpio carts, while me and my other two friends Hope and Jarreka went on the extreme Stratosphere. It was so crazy because we went upside down for 5 seconds and screamed. Overall it was the best time ever. The funny thing is that i'm going back to Rainbows End this Saturday for my nieces Birthday Celebration.

Six Sentence Narrative

Once upon a time there was a beautiful young K-pop Idol. She lived in gigantic guest house in Seoul, the capital city of South Korea. She had the most beautiful voice because she would sing like an angel and make beautiful melody with her voice. Unfortunately, she had no one to love but her pet dog Bailey. She dreamt of meeting another young K-pop Idol that she could share her love with. So she moved to the beautiful city of Busan, met a handsome young K-pop Idol, and made a beautiful melody together.

Once upon a time there lived a handsome young Cook Island dancer. He lived in a beach resort, at the edge of Aitutaki. His family would always call him a blessing, because he was able to do any Cook Island slow beat and fast beat. Unfortunately, he had a bit of feelings for this one girl, but he didn’t want to make her feel weird if he told her. He always wanted to be her special someone, but for some reason he just couldn’t catch her attention. A few years later he saw her again, and she was a Cook Island Dancer, and they made their load of money by dancing worldwide and competing in dancing competitions.

Once upon a time there lived a beautiful young maiden. She lived in an enormous forest, and a small village with her Father, Step mother, and her two young step brothers. People would always say that she was the most glamorous girl above all, but what they didn’t know is that she was able to talk backwards and sing. One day she was forced into marriage with a young and rich man, and had to deal with his awful attitude. A few years later after their wedding she decided to run away with another young villager who she loved with all her heart.
